Futurama (TV Series)
Aroview: Matt Groening’s sci-fi followup show to THE SIMPSONS is a similarly clever adult-oriented cartoon, again with layers of satire and irony aplenty.
As the title indicates, this is set in the future, where various characters negotiate everyday life in an age of super hi-technology, cryogenics, aliens and endless movie references. Not quite as obviously relevant as its iconic predecessor, but once perceived, the rich writing, sight gags, smart plotting and general silliness provide many satisfactions.
