My Wife is an Actress
Aroview: Obviously modelled on his own life, first time writer/director Yvan Attal tailors a project for his real-life wife, Charlotte Gainsbourg, who essentially plays herself – a famous French actress – caught in an emotional tug-of-war between her possessive husband (Attal himself) and her acting commitments, which involves the allure of a major English star.
Amusing but inconsequential, it doesn’t quite satisfy curiosity about how other-halves must cope with their acting partners on-screen ‘sensuality’, but Gainsbourg is beguiling in both a French and English speaking role.
