Aroview: Nothing to do with the paranormal, but everything to do with the anti-normal, this independent gem is a surprisingly endearing tale of two sneering teenage girls and the relationship that one of them develops with a much-older collector of antique records.
A sophisticated adaptation from his own comic book, writer Daniel Clowes taps the late 90s ‘zeitgeist’ and finds a perfect match for his gently-jaded irony in the impeccable ‘taste’ of non-conformist director Terry “Crumb” Zwigoff, and the beguiling form of Thora Birch, who plays the required sweet and sour to a tee.

5 stars (Exceptional) Just great. Buscemi and Birch (whatever happened to her?) excel. The comic book's brilliant, too. ~HiFi
4 stars (Very Good) I would love to have a great long conversation with someone about this movie. It's one that I want to understand but I'm too stupid to get it on my own. I think there were a lot of questions that I am now left with at the end of this (not a bad thing). ~Biggie
5 stars (Exceptional) Two female leads wonderful. Steve Bucsemi great as nerdy record clollector. All round excellent movie ~emjay
