Aroview: Steven Speilberg ‘presents’ this straight-faced mini-series about the impact of UFOs (abductions, investigations, consipracies et al) on American life since the 1940s.

Based around the ongoing lives of three families from WWII through the Vietnam War and beyond, this enacts a more character focused drama than THE X-FILES. An original approach, though more than a little taken with its own seriousness.
