Aroview: Landmark PBS documentary on the explosion of graffiti art in New York in the late 70s/early 80s, which became an important foundation stone in the ‘hiphop’ movement.

The film eventually gathered its own cult and in this DVD edition it is accompanied by numerous extra footage, interviews, spotlight galleries on 32 different artists of the time and music clips. Extra material totals over three hours.

4 stars (Very Good) Graffiti was considered by many to be one of the core elements of hip hop, and Style Wars shows the origins of the graffiti art movement. This is a must-see for fans of either. ~Tom H
