Aroview: A contemporary British gangster film with a showcase role for Michael Caine as a blindly ambitious, fast-talking East End boxing promoter looking for that break to finally set him on the straight and narrow.

But hopes are held rather in vain, as his fighter isn’t up for a slick American contender, and there’s also that niggling fact that his lastly promoted bout ended in a murder. Has something to satisfy those used to the Tarantino/Guy Ritchie school of flash, while not forgoing the no-frills realism of the Brit underworld old boys.
