Limey, The
Aroview: A muscular revenge picture steered by a gifted director not afraid to experiment, Terrence Stamp plays an aging Cockney career criminal who, fresh from a long stint in the nick, travels to LA to hunt down the men connected to his daughter’s death.
Undercut by sly humour, the fractured narrative flashes back, forward and sideways to powerfully simulate the state of mind of a man whose determination is offset by alienation and a host of personal demons. But most satisfyingly the cathartic finale proves unexpectedly disarming and poignant.
