Aroview: A new war between humans and mutants looks to boil over in this sure-footed sci-fi sequel, again steered by dir. Singer.

Centred around threats to Professor Xavier's (Stewart) Academy by militaristic legislators and a solo quest by Wolverine (Jackman), this manages to easily sustain its tone of hyperactive narrative and action. Though relying too much on assumed knowledge, and baffling in its range of characters, much of the broad wit can be easily appreciated, with memorable, above-par performances from Jackman, Janssen and Cox.
