Max
Aroview: Recommendable though flawed drama, concerns a fictional friendship in 1918 Munich between budding-artist Adolf Hitler and a Jewish art-dealer.
Provoking in its examination of the young Hitler's life aspirations and motives, but less so in its more overt pop psychologising, this still carefully and impressively recreates post-war Germany's burgeoning art scene. Taylor's portrayal of the future tyrant as an unpleasantly opinionated, vain autodidact is also intriguing. Shot in Budapest.
