Aroview: Sturdy, unconventional French thriller about an insecure, partially-deaf office clerk who tries to help an irascible ex-con integrate back into society, only to become actively caught up in his criminal past.

Though slightly uneven through the fits and starts of their awkward relationship, this recovers in an exciting third act where the criminal plot clocks into high gear and the odd, decidedly unglamorous partnership gets the chemistry right.

2 stars (Good Try) The screenplay is overlong for the material and has plot contrivances but things are helped along by two good lead performances plus there is Olivier Gourmet lurking in support. ~Tubbs
