Holes
Aroview: Surprisingly cunning comedy, where a teenager is unjustly sent to an isolated reformatory, and set to work digging holes in the desert for no apparent reason.
Blessed with a top cast, and some clever comic and dramatic ploys, this develops its teenage-eye view into a classic fable of adolescence, reminiscent in tone of Roald Dahl. Adapted from the cult novel by Louis Sacher, this unveils its quirky storyline, with an intriguing structure and visual flair.

3 stars (Good Enough) A boy accused of stealing is sent to a camp for wayward kids in the middle of the desert to spend everyday digging holes to 'build character'. Its a good enough adaptation of the best-selling novel, but I did enjoy the book a little more. ~GenXGirl
2 stars (Good Try) Works best when Sigourney takes charge of a scene - Jon Voight tries hard. ~Tubbs
