Matilda
Aroview: An achingly funny and mischievous Roald Dahl story about a browbeaten nine-year-old girl who has the last laugh when bestowed with supernatural gifts. Mr. De Vito turns the cruel humour into full-throttle menace and creates one of most memorable villains ever to (dis)grace family cinema. Kids 'll love it.

4 stars (Very Good) Matilda is a charming little tale about a gifted and very smart young girl, from a horribly dysfunctional family, who beats the odds stacked against her. Classic Roald Dahl stuff, and thoroughly worthwhile. ~GenXGirl
3 stars (Good Enough) The first half is strong but the screenplay weakens a little once it gets into St. Trinians territory. Throughout the production values are excellent. ~Tubbs
