Missing Gun, The

Aroview: Wound-up thriller set in a small and eccentric Chinese village, where a policeman wakes one morning with a hangover to find his State-issued pistol has been stolen.

Quite uncommon for Chinese cinema, this is packed with western-style film trickery, high-speed chases and handheld camera work, as the hero races to retrieve his weapon (which is being used for no good). Though it drags somewhat in the final act, Jiang is compelling throughout.
