Payne plays an ex-con who is jailed for an unrelated crime, and on release searches for the true culprits. Violent, pulpy tone seems to have influenced later filmmakers, Quentin Tarantino among them.

2 stars (Good Try) The screenplay was competent enough but needed a bit of urgency at times but there was an attraction in the bad guys Neville Brand, Jack Elam, and one of the greats Lee Van Cleef. ~Tubbs
