USA 2003, 95 minutes
Dir. Oliver Stone
Rating: [Exempt]
Genres: Documentary

Topics: Politics.

Aroview: A unique, if rather-too-adoring, portrait of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro by political maverick dir. Oliver Stone (JFK, PLATOON).

Granted access to Castro for interviews, Stone wastes no time in revealing the cigar-puffing leader as determined and insightful, yet also disingenuous. Intercut with a myriad of archival newscasts, this retains Stone's slanted agit-prop tone, but is overall is unusually intimate and revealing.
