Mona Lisa Smile
Aroview: Julia Roberts is restrained and fairly effective in this Ivy-League drama, set at the renowned Wellesley College in the 1950s, where she attempts to teach a class over-achieving teenagers a thing or two about art.
Unfortunately her young proteges are an intimidating bunch, Dunst in particular, who puts aside her own sympathetic persona to play a budding blue-blood bitch. Despite the acting firepower, and a reliably dramatic storyline, its thematic agendas never quite get those finishing brushstrokes.
