Duplex
Aroview: Typically wicked premise from dir. De Vito, with Stiller and Barrymore as a duplex-owning young couple who are lumbered with an eccentric, elderly and exasperating upstairs tenant.
As they are distracted from their lives by her all-night TV sessions, brass band rehersals and "little favours" that take all day, their thoughts turn to the unique possibilities of homicide. Simpler and more effective than DEATH TO SMOOCHY, this still suffers from over-contrivance, but is certainly worth more than a few chuckles.
