Behaviours of the Backpacker

Aroview: Chinese/Hungarian-American film student, Sándor Lau, walked 500km alone from Auckland to Cape Reinga - New Zealand's geographic and spiritual tip - for this black-comedy-road-trip-documentary.

An entirely independent production that enjoyed several network TV broadcasts, Lau records his own story as well as those of backpackers from around the world, organic farmers, hostel owners, tour operators, and Maori communities. On his journey, he discovers how much a toothbrush handle weighs, why we spend our lives walking backwards, and the true distance to home.
