Aroview: A pre-9/11 political doco that still resonates loudly in the George W. Bush era, actor and “concerned citizen” Phillip Seymour Hoffman takes to the streets in search of ‘the truth’ about the state of democracy in America for the six months leading up to the contentious 2000 Election.
Poking his mike under the noses of politicians, commentators, celebrities and ordinary citizens from across the political spectrum, this is wide-ranging yet focused in its discussion of the issues; political campaigning, corruption, globalization, the drug problem, gun control, unemployment, and disillusionment with the political process. Surprisingly even-handed in spite of its liberal’s-eye take on the ‘state of the nation’.

4 stars (Very Good) Little has been learned in 2016 from the 2000 election. The police don't come out of it too well and neither does the integrity of the voting system, but the saddest thing for me is the millions spent on campaigning when thousands are homeless & hungry. ~Tubbs
