Respecting the classic original by not trying to compete, this presumes the audience are in on the 'secret' of Stepford from early on, but for all the fun it has playing the blue-chip premise and updating the sexual politics, this runs out of batteries before its climax, and is ultimately as disposable as a pair of AAAs.

3 stars (Good Enough) Not perfect but it has a strong plot idea and a Director who has ideas of his own plus a strong cast in Kidman, Close and Walken in particular. ~Tubbs
