Heart of Me, The

Aroview: A moody, though slightly outmoded period drama set in London between the wars in which two sisters become involved with the same man, as wife and lover respectively.

Although based around a familiar framework of Merchant-Ivory conventions, this introduces a few novel touches of wit and intellect, and is certainly stylish. Adapted from the novel 'The Echoing Grove', by Rosamund Lehmann, based on her own affair with the poet C. Day Lewis.
