Merry War, A

Aroview: A literate, aware version of George Orwell's early comic novel set in a stagnating 1930s Britain. Richard E Grant plays Orwell's self-parody of a middle-class aspiring poet who slums it in a second-hand bookshop to attain the integrity of poverty. This improves as it goes along, with Helena Bonham-Carter as Grant's patient devotee.
