Aroview: While experimenting in his lab, budding genius O'Connell unwittingly invents a teleportation device that slides open portals to alternate realities into which he and his friends are cast.

More than adequate TV sci-fi series, certainly doesn't cop out on its responsibility to proffer some new concepts in the genre. And while not exactly BUFFY, this does throw in some subtle humour for its nicely mixed cast.
