Lady Snowblood 1
Aroview: A classic samurai B-movie made in the heyday of 'Wu Xia' influence, with Kaji playing a bereaved young woman who seeks revenge on the gangsters who slaughtered her parents.
Training for 20 years to become a one woman killing machine she certainly has her day with the sword, but this film is impressive for both its sensitive storytelling and lightness of touch. Set in late 19th century Japan. Was clearly a large influence on Tarantino's KILL BILL films.

4 stars (Very Good) Huge influence on Tarantino, this revenge story is vivid, violent, and well scripted. How fitting that Tarantino has in turn introduced a whole new generation of audience to this classic. ~Tom H
