Aroview: A faithful and somewhat underrated adaptation of Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Rigoletto", updated into the modern office world, where a top executive (Pullman) is drawn into a poisonously immoral web of intrigue involving a coprorate hitman, his nubile daughter (Bruckner) and a 'curse', put on him by a rejected employee.
Written by the erudite Daniel Handler ("Lemony Snicket"), and the debut effort of Gus Van Sant's longtime editor, this has a certain malign undertone that is both compelling and disturbing, if a little too stylised to be fully succesful. Certainly worth a look for fans of David Mamet or Neil LaBute.
