Requiem

Aroview: Stylish French action horror in which four vicious convicts hole up in a remote Cistercian monastery. Terrorising the monks and a young woman who has taken refuge from the winter night, a complex back-story is slowly revealed.

Not for the faint-hearted, this presents a violent scenario with oppressive atmospherics and ice-cold dashes of sadistic violence, though the jolting camera-work and music lifts it from being merely gothic spectacle.
