Aroview: An even now brutal late Hammer set in plague-ridden 19th century Europe, where a small village unknowingly admits vampires disguised as a touring circus into their midst. Soon these shape-changers are reviving their vicious leader who was 'staked' in the vicinity several years before.

4 stars (Very Good) Remarkably dark and violent for a Hammer outing, this ramps up the sensuality to 11. Wonderfully surreal, this feels more like a blood-drunk fever dream from Jean Rollin. rn Imagine if Hammer Studios had been able to make more films like this. ~trauma_hound412
