Paul (2011)
I suspect the uncut version of this is stronger than the theatrical version but Pegg and Frost are as usual watchable (either as a single or a double act).
Communion (1989)
It doesn't all work as well as it could have but at least the screenplay doesn't follow the expected path– whether by design or not I don't know.
Toy Story 3 (2010)
Considering it is the second sequel, and even though it is a Pixar, it is pretty good.
Aviator's Wife, The (La femme de l'aviateur) (1981)
Very little happens.
Goldfinch, The (2019)
The screenplay doesn't go anywhere fast and the characters do not raise the interest level to any great degree.
Escape Room (2019)
This is one of the better escape room films.
Ricochet (1991)
Violence, with some of it tasteless, rules the screenplay which finally gives up the ghost and goes off the rails completely. However, the one saving grace is the performance of John Lithgow who is very very believable.
Barbarians at the Gate (1993)
Unusually for 100 minutes of suits and hairdos, it is very entertaining. The screenplay oozes greed. James Garner is terrific in heading an extremely solid cast. Have a look at yourselves Corporate America.
Flesh (1968)
The young characters don't do anything which might be the whole point of the screenplay.
Meeting Gorbachev (2018)
Well done Werner for capturing on film a person who had a positive impact on modern history.
