Partition (2007): Sprinkled throughout the predictable screenplay is some gorgeous location shooting.
Sanshiro Sugata 2 (1945): A martial arts curiosity.
Pride of Jesse Hallam, The (1981): A watchable but standard tale of the underdog.
Dreamers, The (2003): The running time is excessive for these 3 characters in a confined space.
A Christmas Tale (Un conte de Noël) (2008): It would have been better with a shorter screenplay or a smaller family.
Stanley and Iris (1990): The best scenes are those located in the company workplace in the first half of the screenplay. What follows is okay, but a bit soppy.
High Spirits (1988): Whatever the failings of the screenplay, there is a very interesting cross Atlantic casting mix.
Man Who Laughs, The (2012): The first half of the screenplay is more interesting than the second, but the final scenes do contain the political bite.
First Night (Cosi) (2010): It doesn't really know what genre it wants to focus on and doesn't do justice to either.
Kiss Them For Me (1957): The comedy material is very light, and it introduces some melodrama that doesn't work too well either.
