3 Days of the Condor (Three Days of the Condor) (1975): Chilling thriller, expertly mounted, with Max von Sydow a particular stand–out. Some genuine surprises along the way raise this above the regular.
Lady in a Cage (1964): Highly recommended Grand Guignol, one of the very best of its kind, with some disturbing themes under the seedy surface.
Devils, The (1971): This is the maddest and baddest Ken Russell pic, which seems designed, in a way, to outrage movie critics everywhere, and is now truly in need of a proper, uncut release. A very powerful piece of work, but not without its own bizarre sense of humour.
