Lunchbox, The (2013)
Well acted and amusing, but with an irritatingly inconclusive ending (though perhaps it's just that I prefer no loose ends!)- DVD $19.95
Parade's End (TV Mini-Series) (2012)
Excellent! Plot moves quickly, sometimes rather elliptically, but very clear and thought–provoking. Wonderful performances from a cast of top British actors.
Hour, The - Series 2 (TV Series) (2012)
Really excellent. At first, the seediness of 1950's London takes some getting used to, but the plots are all gripping, historically accurate and very fast–paced. The cast is top notch.
Foyle's War (TV Series) (2002-2015)
Superb! From the cunning plots to the dry wittiness of the dialogue, every episode is excellent. First–rate acting and characterisation.- DVD $24.95, $24.95, $24.95, $24.95
French Minister, The (Quai d'Orsay) (2013)
The satire is excellent, and well enhanced by believable performances from the actors. BUT... this would do better as a 15–minute skit, rather than dragging on and going exactly nowhere.
What's in a Name? (2012)
Very clever and fast–paced ('French Seinfeld on speed'!) Excellent acting, believable characters. A really good laugh, though I was quite exhausted by the end.
Johnny Stecchino (1992)
Starts off rather lame and foolish, but is well worth seeing through. Becomes absolutely hilarious, with excellent acting.
Band's Visit, The (Bikur Ha-Tizmoret) (2007)
Sometimes uncomfortable, but warm and very human. Quite an eye–opener. Excellent acting. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
Deadly Advice (1993)
- Excellent, fast–paced, sparkling dark comedy. Great musical soundtrack and stellar supporting cast. Really enjoyable.
Bleak Old Shop of Stuff, The (TV Series) (2011)
- Feeble and fatuous. As amusing as cold porridge.
