Young Savages, The Young Savages, The (1961)
2 stars (Good Try) The screenplay is serviceable but it does have some memorable New York street scenes, particularly at the opening of the film.
Secret CeremonySecret Ceremony (1968)
3 stars (Good Enough) Not in the top bracket of the Director's canon, but it does have an interesting screenplay and a hard to ignore cast.
Crusades, TheCrusades, The (1935)
2 stars (Good Try) To watch it was a crusade.
Simple Life Of Noah Dearborn, TheSimple Life Of Noah Dearborn, The (1999)
2 stars (Good Try) Written to be soppy but the cast keeps the soppiness to a bearable level.
Munster, Go HomeMunster, Go Home (1966)
2 stars (Good Try) The challenge is to take a black and white TV show away from Mockingbird Lane change it to a coloured feature and locate it in England. It is not successful but it does have some worthwhile segments.
IntersectionIntersection (1993)
2 stars (Good Try) There is no surprise as to which direction this screenplay takes.
FaustFaust (1926)Recommended
3 stars (Good Enough) A strong story is well told with the special effects very commendable as is the performance of Emil Jannings who with a bit of help from his character stole his scenes.
Side EffectsSide Effects (2013)Recommended
2 stars (Good Try) It was okay but Law and or his character just got annoying.
MudMud (2012)Recommended
2 stars (Good Try) It is long and too long for me for a screenplay driven by two boy characters but the shooting locations help to add interest. Matthew hard to spell McC is okay in this one.
Much Ado About NothingMuch Ado About Nothing (1993)Recommended
3 stars (Good Enough) I'm not qualified to comment on the adaptation but it is beautifully shot and the casting mix is interesting with Emma Thompson the standout.
