Santa Clause, The (1994)
Allen is a good grumpy Santa but I wish someone could have strangled the screeching kid.
Glass Chin (2014)
A low key drama – which makes a nice change with no high body count etc. A good script that's been competently acted.
Get Santa (2014)
The screenplay is always silly but gets a bit over silly toward the end. For the most part its very good however with Broadbent and Spall standing out.
An Education (2009)
A straightforward plot but its well scripted and the casting is spot on. The ubiquitous and very adaptable Alfred Molina is a standout even with the quality of the other performers.
Van Diemen's Land (2009)
Childhood's End (TV Mini-series) (2015)
Has an excellent story base – on a first viewing worthy of a second look.
Horsemen, The (1971)
Some very good horsemanship and locations which are impressively filmed but there is little else.
Breaking a Monster (2015)
It would help if you are a fan of the kind of noise the kids produce. There are some interesting aspects raised in the documentary about the management side of their affairs but its not exactly enthralling.
Sergeant York (1941)
It gets a bit preachy at times but there are enough good bits that have held up after 75 years and Cooper does a good job throughout.
Blood Feast 2: All You Can Eat (2002)
The meat is fresh but everything else is bad and wonderfully over the top.
