Dough (2015)
An above average cast – the screenplay has some good early moments but falls away.
Southpaw (2015)
The boxing action is well handled and the make up department do a great job. Soft ending.
Easy A (2010)
You feel like asking talents Clarkson and Tucci what they saw in this film to take it on. Their reply would have inspired the title.
Kiss of Death, The (1977)
I have always rated Chris Walken's smile as the most chilling on film but Threlfall's laugh is disturbing. A "Kiss of Death" Part 2 would have been interesting to see what road is character took. Kay Adshead is also terrific.
Nuts in May (1976)
Whilst maybe not empathising you can still relate to the two leads and the situations they find themselves in – and that's the key to this comedy gem. The two lead performances are perfect.
Mouse Hunt (1998)
If its honouring Greenaway, Burton and Gilliam it has succeeded. Very good special effects add to the mayhem.
Prince and the Pauper (1937)
A very good adaptation of this fine story – Claude Rains is well cast as the villain.
Personal Best (1982)
It couldn't make up its mind what kind of a film it wanted to be. The athletic action is good . Introduces an unnecessary character in a water polo player – two of his scenes are infantile – & it delays the athletic action which has a soppy ending.
Murder She Said (1961)
Some British Rail nostalgia. The plot is very good and the performance highlights are the "interaction" between Margaret R and James R–J.
Jim: The James Foley Story (2016)
Some interesting bits but it drags mostly – not many surprises.
