3 stars (Good Enough) A well written screenplay with a touch of comedy and plenty of satire.
DVD $20 $15
HoosiersHoosiers (1986)
3 stars (Good Enough) Another splendid performance from Gene Hackman. The early screenplay depicts small town insularity very well. The opening scenes of Gene driving along rural roads trying to find the school are the best.
Prince and the Pauper, ThePrince and the Pauper, The (2000)
3 stars (Good Enough) A decent enough adaptation of a timeless story.
Slipper and the Rose, TheSlipper and the Rose, The (1975)
3 stars (Good Enough) Although not strong musically Michael Hordern and Edith Evans are in form and make it worth a watch.
Wrong Arm of the Law, TheWrong Arm of the Law, The (1962)
4 stars (Very Good) The supporting cast headed by the wonderful Lionel Jeffries are the icing on the cake. The comedic writing is excellent.

2 stars (Good Try) It had varying levels of interest.
Price CheckPrice Check (2012)
2 stars (Good Try) It doesn't work too well – maybe Parker was a little too strong for the rest of the cast.
Love and a 45Love and a 45 (1994)
2 stars (Good Try) It has little to recommend it and it has little that hasn't been done before.rn
Purple Rose of CairoPurple Rose of Cairo (1985)Aro Favourite
3 stars (Good Enough) A good plot idea and production values. Mia spoke with a whine – I wonder where she got that from?
Flesh and BloodFlesh and Blood (1985)
2 stars (Good Try) Unfortunately, it has an unnecessary and prolonged rape scene and therefore loses a *.
