Gunman, The (2015)
Elba and Winstone have short screen time and Bardem is flat for once. Rylance is good but nothing lifts this above the routine.
Land of the Bears (2014)
It is worth watching just for the scenery never mind about the cuddlies.
Blue Velvet (1986)
The bookends are gorgeous portraits but in between there is Dennis Hopper. Laura Dern is wonderfully innocent and contrasts with Isabella Rossellini whilst Dean Stockwell gives a memorable cameo. It is not faultless but it has won me over again.
League of Their Own, A (1992)
Excellent story & the periodic props & set designs are well done.Geena is well assisted by Lori Petty with Rosie O'Donnell scene stealing & really looking/acting like a baseball player. However the film gets sidetracked too often and is therefore too long
Life Partners (2014)
Normally "Oh My God" comedies make me cringe but not this one. The girls are terrific and so is the script. The dipstick male characters are also well played.
Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013)
Doesn't really add anything new to the Supernatural Horror sub–genre.
Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe, The (TV Mini-Series) (2015)
They've done well to get some good look a likes but her story has been thrashed to death.
Due Date (2010)
Modest comedy.
Master, The (1994)
The fight scenes are comedic rather than kung fuish – Jet Li is good and has some good sidekicks – enjoyable.
A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas (2011)
For the those who are easily pleased.
