Once Upon a Time in Punchbowl (TV Series) (2014)
A comprehensive documentary on the trials and tribulations of a Lebanese community including how it was affected by events overseas.
Darling (1965)
The paper thin characters do not hold the attention for long but the film's cynical view of these hedonists makes an impression. Some nostalgic location shooting.
Felony (2013)
Not remarkable but well worth a watch – reasonable story and the performances are fine.
Phantom of the Opera (1943)
The colour is easy on the eye and the singing easy on the ear.
Accidental Tourist, The (1988)
Nothing much happens but in a way this helps the viewer in that you can concentrate on the performances – its slowly paced but again because little happens this doesn't matter.
Plus One (+1) (2013)
The plot is a variant of a familiar theme. Watchable but the male children get a bit irritating.
Wild (2015)
The flashbacks don't always help the narrative but overall its watchable with Reese W again performing well.
Pelican Brief, The (1993)
I don't know why it took so long to tell a straightforward story – there are some good bits amongst the padding – its a good job Denzel was casted as he helps to pass the time.
Homeboy (1988)
As with "The Wrestler" the back stage scenes (and those involving the great Christopher Walken) are the best. Gets a bit over dramatic at times especially the finale.
Cincinnati Kid, The (1965)
Flattered to deceive – didn't need the romantic bits and it fell flat during the card games. The props were fine and the casting interesting.
