Wish I Was Here (2014)
Tries maybe a bit too hard but it doesn't quite succeed as a comedy nor a drama. However you could do a lot worse.
Horror of Dracula (1958)
Classy cast includes Michael Gough – half expected Vincent to turn up.
Old Yeller (1957)
The voice of the little snot would make anyone run a mile. Dorothy McGuire deserves a medal for her perseverance.
Darkest Hour, The (2011)
The automatic weapon fire gets in the way of the sci–fi.
Monkey Shines (1988)
Poor acting from the lead male – the monkey does him for a dinner on that count. The film is very uneven but is never boring and the better bits make it worthwhile.
Tarzan (1999)
Very well done and very entertaining.
Enter the Dragon (1973)
The violence distracts from the choreography and the martial arts – Lee has this silly expression on his face when fighting as if he is half pissed – I'm sure he wasn't. Some beautiful exterior location shooting.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
Has a timeless place in the genre.
Sleepwalkers (1992)
This film succeeds because it doesn't take itself seriously. Great make up work and a great performance from Alice Krige.
Subject Two (2006)
Give it some credit for trying to come up with an original script – worth a watch.
