They Live (1988)
Good musical score throughout.Starts well and a good idea but which for the most part is swamped by gunfire.
True Grit (1969)
Wayne plays a murdering verbose lawman whose time is past.Because the film is so long he has a lot of screen time, but this is compensated for in part by an interesting support cast among the "baddies" and the location photography.
Brave One, The (2007)
What a stuff up – starts off well but then the plot gets silly losing any impact it had. Jodie is one of the producers so no excuses. A waste of her talent and the excellent street locales.
Godzilla (2014)
Nothing is sacred – the Americans have taken over Godzilla. Godzilla belongs in Japan and in the 1950's.
He's Just Not That Into You (2008)
Made no impression on me which I suppose I should be grateful for.
Chasing Papi (2003)
Pure froth. The first half of the film is a recycling of a well worn theme. At least its short and harmless.
Transformers - Age of Extinction (Transformers 4) (2014)
Goes on forever and loses its way – failed to hold attention.
Dukes of Hazzard (2005)
I find Scott irritating and the plot is very familiar but there is entertainment from the supporting characters. A good soundtrack also helps.
Masquerade (2012)
The photography and costumes are fine but this is a variation of a well known story. Looks like it was made for commercial purposes.
Out of Sight (1998)
Too long – didn't need the romantic bits. Musical score fine. Some interest provided by the good support cast.
