Whisky Galore! (1949): Such a simple but wonderful story played out by a terrific Ealing cast in a location that is close to being out of this world.
White Balloon, The (1995): When I first saw this I got so frustrated that I swore that I would never see it again. However, I couldn't get it out of my mind and did see it again and loved it.
Juan of the Dead (2011): The majority of the screenplay follows formula but there is the occasional fresh idea such as the underwater scene.
Fantasia (1940): The episodes after the passing of 80 years vary in appeal but some such as "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" are timeless.
Yella (2007): A well written psychological drama helmed perfectly by Nina Hoss.
Lapsis (2020): It failed to hold the attention.
Days of the Bagnold Summer (2019): This kind of comedy has been done quite successfully by the American Independents. This offering compares reasonably well.; DVD $29.95
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021): The screenplay writers showed no respect for what you can and cannot do in the proximity of fire and smoke.
Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 (2014): The series has got flat.
Old (2021): Although the plot idea didn't work out too well it at least was a little different from the norm.
