Breathless (1983): The street scenes are not too bad and are beautifully shot but most of the action is indoors.
Blame it on Rio (1984): Slightly risque when released.
California Suite (1978): It plays a bit like a play but the quality of the casting gets you through.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, The (1986): Its sole purpose seemed to be to outdo the original.
American Ninja 2: The Confrontation (1987): It tried to instill a bit of humour in the screenplay – probably as a desperate measure.
Love Eternal (2013): What could have been a tricky subject is handled in a low key and decent manner.
Crossing Over (2009): Although it is hard to tell at times from the untidy screenplay it may have been made with good intentions toward the immigrants.
Up 'n' Under (1998): It doesn't stray too far from formula but it is enjoyable thanks in no small part to some character actors given their place in the sun.
Los Angeles Plays Itself (2003): Impressive film library research with background historical information is translated into coherent storytelling.
Special Relationship, The (2010): The writing is pretty good and the screenplay is not as dry as it could have been. Michael Sheen is very good and has found a niche in this kind of role.
