Beautiful Country, The (2004): I would say it was made with good intentions and thanks also to an excellent performance from Ling Bai it is well worth a look.
Glorias, The (2020): The screenplay, because of the flashbacks, was stretched out a bit but the period details looked good. Hopefully, the film will raise interest in her story and encourage further reading.
Joanna Lumley: Girl Friday (1994): It has curiosity value.
Patton (1970): The production is fine but it is Scott's performance that gets you through the long screenplay.; DVD ~~$20~~ $15
Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors (1965): The photography is sumptuous and the very busy soundtrack is excellent.
Wild Mountain Thyme (2020): An interesting casting mix and the screenplay has the odd good offbeat moment but it has to fall back on the location shooting at times.; DVD $29.95 | Blu-Ray $34.95
Aelita: Queen of Mars (1924): "I'm flying to Mars tomorrow".
Fail Safe (1964): A capable cast, in the hands of a top director, does justice to a very strong plot idea.
Savage (2020): Although the characters weren't that interesting it does a pretty good job with the period details, particularly the '60s.; DVD $29.95 | Blu-Ray $34.95
Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (2004): Not an anime fan but this looked good.
