Inglourious Basterds (Inglorious Bastards) (2009): The movie's cast deliver impressive performances, many from relative unknowns. Just remember it is Tarantino though, violence is part of his gig. And he does it well here, though not as well as in earlier works.; DVD ~~$19.95~~ $14.95
Let The Right One In (2008): A refreshing and elegantly crafted work, the performances by these children are impressive and engage us right from the start.
Predators (2010): What a waste of 107 minutes. Avoid.
Letters From Iwo Jima (2006): Fabulous depiction of Japanese angst and contradiction during the Second World War. A completely different animal to its companion piece, 'Flags of our Fathers', which is absolute drivel.
Flags of our Fathers (2006): Couldn't agree more with Tom H. I stopped watching half way through; the cast are wooden and predictable. 'Letters from Iwo Jima' is vastly superior. This one is absolute drivel, fair and square.
Antichrist (2009): Decidedly average. The movie begins with great expectations, but fails to deliver. I can think of plenty of other films exploring similar themes, so don't rush to rent this.
Disgrace (2008): Fabulous. A convicing portrayal of life in South Africa post–apartheid, there were a number of scenes that pulled on the heart strings. A must–see.
