There's Still Tomorrow (2023): The writing is clever and its feminist message well made.; DVD $29.95
Alvin Purple / Alvin Rides Again (1973): Alvin P: 50 years on it has cult value even if the material is not particularly strong. Alvin Rides Again: ditto.
Partisan (2015): Kids with guns. I will give the filmmaker the benefit of the doubt in that the intention of the screenplay was good.; Blu-Ray $24.95
Detachment (2011): It is better than the average schoolroom drama. The writing is quite ambitious and a second viewing is probably warranted.
Protector 2, The (Tom yum goong 2) (2013): Business as usual – good stunt work, choreography, and slow motion action camera work.
Sense of an Ending, The (2017): A challenging screenplay for all the right reasons. Broadbent and Rampling fall into the "must watch" group of actors.
Road, The (2009): Uplifting.
Margaret (2011): Never rivetting but the ability to maintain interest for 3 hours in a screenplay that is very heavy on dialogue, is commendable.
Beautiful Kate (2009): A solid screenplay and, performances. A very good soundtrack.
Standard Operating Procedure (2008): Brave filmmaking – well done to all involved – it could not have been easy for some of the participants.
