One of the best episodes, this tells the story of dir. Burnett's own boyhood encounters with the blues through his uncle, weaving in archival footage of Son House and Ma Rainey and investigating the relationship between 'Saturday night' blues and 'Sunday morning' gospel.

3 stars (Good Enough) Great archival footage esp. of little-known female blues artists. But the dramatized story of 11-yr old Burnett's visit to Mississippi - which frames the movie & the archival footage - is a bit creaky. ~Sandy
