White Noise
Aroview: An architect (Keaton) becomes entranced by the possibilities of speaking with his deceased wife (Unger) by tapping into the audiovisual chaos of a TV set with static-ey bad reception, looking for EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) from beyond the grave.
Utilising the same fascination-dread of modern technology as RINGU, this takes a less forboding angle, engineering more visceral whiplash thrills and demonic spectres out of the eerie fuzz. By halfway, this gets increasingly predictable and Keaton can't pull off much emotional veracity, yet still, a not unenjoyable romp through various recent horror tropes.
