Aroview: A delicately imagined journey through the Ukrainian countryside in the company of a widower and his 11-year old son, who set off on foot from Moscow for the distant Crimean town of Koktebel.

Blending memories, landscape contemplations and avian childhood fantasies, this is slow going, yet ultimately a small triumph of selective observation and visual beauty. Comparable in some ways to the contemporaneous THE RETURN, but with a more lyrical and less demonstrative atmosphere.
