USA 2003, 90 minutes
Dir. Jacob Aaron Estes
Rating: [R]
Genres: Suspense/Crime, Drama / Youth, Independent

Aroview: Skillful 'delinquent thriller' about a group of highschool kids who plot to humiliate the overweight school bully on a boating daytrip.

Though the premise doesn't break any new ground (RIVER'S EDGE is an obvious antecedent), this keeps itself afloat by holding back its pivotal event and letting the excellent young cast (esp. Rory Culkin) thoroughly sweat it out. A commendable, and quite stylish, debut for its writer-director that will especially stick in the minds of young adult viewers.
