Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, The

Aroview: A snappy adolescent drama concerning four teenage girlfriends spending their first summer apart, and sending a pair of magically-fitting jeans to each other as a way of staying in touch.

As each character negotiates the summer they grow up in different ways - Ferrera discovering her father has a new family, Bledal finding love in Greece, Tamblyn a job in a local supermarket and Lively testing her powers of seduction at a soccer camp. While the central device is rather thin, this rests on some strong, emotive performances and dir.'s keen eye for the essence of female bonding.
