Camp
Aroview: A heart-on-its-sleeve musical set an American summer camp for 'artistic' teenagers, in which individual fears and hopes find group expression in the staging of a climactic stage-show.
While the various insecurities and attachments of its youthful characters unravel (and are at times depicted clumsily), this builds momentum around boy-band singer Letterle and most interestingly, a semi-alcoholic tutor (Dixon) who still nurses the manuscript of his lost "musical extravaganza". Although uneven in its plotting, the film finds rapt consummation in half a dozen vital musical numbers, delivered with real conviction and eagerness.
